Geocache Description:

This special cache is hidden on a trail in Camarillo Grove Park. It costs $3.00 to park here on weekends, and $1.00 on weekdays, and the park closes at dusk. Driving to the park you will enjoy seeing a row of poinsettia bushes in flaming bloom.

The original contents of this cache are several wrapped Christmas Gifts. A "Christmas Grab Bag". Please bring a gift to exchange, or log only. They are all small gifts in the $3.00 to $5.00 range. My other gift to all of you is this poem!

A Geocacher's Christmas!

Twas the month before Christmas, and all through the hills,
Geocachers could be found, getting their thrills.
Their GPS’s were held firmly with care,
In hopes that a geocache could be found somewhere.
The numbers on the screens were waiting to be read,
While visions of geotreasures danced in their head,
And with me in my kerchief, and Roy in his cap,
Had just settled down to look at our map…
When out on the hill there arose such a clatter,
We sprang to our feet to see what was the matter.
Up over the hill a stampede came,
Geocachers, too many to count, let alone name.
The dust was a flying as they made way,
For no bushwhacking is required for cachers to play.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But a group of geocachers who showed no fear.
With a brave leader, so lively and upbeat,
We knew in a moment we were in for a treat.
More rapid than coyotes these cachers they came,
And Trurokr whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now, Team Dakiba! now, Campy! now Slegal and Mobil Dave!
On, Narlsharls! on Ventura Kids! on Baby Sparkle!” and too many more to name!
To the top of the hill! to the top of the crest!
They were all racing to see who was the best!
As they stay on the trail searching bushes nearby,
They scream when what they seek, catches their eye.
So up to the treasure these cachers they flew,
After opening the Tupperware they knew just what to do,
They traded their trinkets, and logged their latest finds,
As new ideas for caches were filling their minds.
We finally reached them as they were turning around,
Getting ready to search for more caches on uncharted ground.
We just had to know, give us a clue,
Tell us what the trick is, tell us what to do.
This is the season to shop, at the overcrowded mall,
But caching is so addicting it is hard to stop at all.
Their leader said “A dedicated cacher knows how to get it all done,
Shopping while caching out in the sun.”
No need for malls when we have “Shop or Geocache”
At “Resistance is Futile” you can cache and also spend cash.
A furry type gift can easily be found,
By visiting “GrrrHiss, also known as the pound.
If stocking stuffers are something with appeal,
Visit “Planes, Boats & HOT-WHEELS!”, you will find such a deal.
For those out of town relatives you thought you barely knew,
Tasty gifts can be found for them at “Nuts To You”.
Your high tech friends could be in for a treat,
If you “Listen to the Birds” and hear them tweet.
We were in awe and amazed at their creative minds,
And could not wait to go out and try all their finds.
As we bid them ado, and as they went on their way,
We asked when we could again get together and play?
They said they get together as groups for picnics and fun,
And plan more events and bashes that they run.
We were so excited to be invited to their next bash,
HAPPY CACHING TO ALL, don't forget to pick up the trash!
