Geocache Description:

A pleasant walk on easy trails to a colonial era stone bridge.

The Hartwell land is an historic property recently acquired by the Littleton Conservation Trust. Park at N42° 32.804 W71° 29.669 to begin your exploration. In colonial times, there was a stagecoach road crossing Beaver Brook. Make sure you visit the old stone bridge just a few yards from the cache at N42° 32.918 W71° 29.425.

More recently, this land was part of a ski area owned and managed by Charlotte and Pappy Hartwell. See http://www.nelsap.org/ma/hartwell.html to learn more of the Hartwell Hill Ski Area. As you walk to the cache you may see signs for the old cross-country ski trails.

The cache is a small ammo box filled with the usual assortment of trinkets. It is locatd maybe a dozen yards off of the trail.
