bunthorne: Well, I didn't think this cache would make it through a busy summer and it didn't. I went down to check on it and sure enough, it's gone. The titular plant has been trimmed and I'll bet the gardeners took the cache.
The good news is that a lot of the bad news that inspired this cache is past. My house burned down in the Cedar fire just weeks before I placed this cache. A lot of geocachers knew about that because of some forum logs. But that wasn't the whole story. My wife had ALS and was really getting near the end. In November, I really felt on the rocks. Anyway, the house is being rebuild now and my wonderful wife passed away last March. Even though I miss her terribly, my life is definitely looking up and is no longer on the rocks.
So this cache had its place. But it is past tense in more ways than one. Thanks to all who found it.
