We think this is the first official cache at Ahmanson Ranch, which opens to the public today, December 1!
There were at least two other caches near here, but this is the first since the Ranch was officially purchased by the State from Washington Mutual. Not that you need a cache to encourage a visit, but we rushed up here on our lunch break and hid an easy-to-find cache. Which do you prefer - this area developed with 3,500 homes, golf courses, commercial centers, etc., or the way you see it today. And let's give thanks to all those dedicated tree-huggers (and ex-Gov. Davis!) who made public ownership a reality! There will be more and better caches here, but ours is the first! We were interviewed by the press even! We parked at the north dead end of Las Virgenes, north of the 101.
