Just before I left this area, a bear was sighted...
...appropriately, on Bear Creek Trail.*
Your job is to find it.
The bear was last seen near the arched tree branch, if it's still there.
There are two ways in:>
|
Entry 1
- Shorter Journey
- Tougher Descents and Ascents
- The trail is pretty well defined and a track-back is most likely not necessary. But, the cache is pretty far from the trail.
- You will have to cross a seasonal creek. This may not be possible during and/or after a heavy rain. However, the day we first made this journey, it rained on and off the two days prior, and we were able to cross.
- The trail is/can be slippery, especially during wet weather.
- The ascent on the other side of the creek is tricky. Make sure of your footing.
- The elevation change is approximately 200ft.
- You may encounter wildlife, most likely, deer.

Entry 2
- Longer Journery
- Easier Descents and Ascents
- The trail is pretty well defined and a track-back is most likely not necessary. But, the cache is pretty far from the trail.
- You won't have to cross a seasonal creek.
- Should be accessable in wet weather.
- The trail is/can be slippery, especially during wet weather.
- The elevation change is approximately 200ft.
- You may encounter wildlife, most likely, deer.

CAREFUL! The Bear has a great view, but it is near the edge of a long steep drop-off.
The entrance to this park closest to the cache is at
N37 55.553 W122 09.761
The gate closes at 5:00pm, however, the park closes at 10:00pm and remains closed until 5:00am the next morning. So, if you park outside the gate, you can hunt until 10:00pm. But, don't park in between the no parking signs.

* The bear sighting associated with this cache is fictional. However, the creek in which the trail was named after, was dubbed Bear Creek for a reason. I have not seen a bear here, nor do I know whether or not they inhabit this park and/or adjacent lands. Any sighting(s) of a real living bear is purely coincidental and caution should be taken to avoid aggrevation. You are looking for a cache, not a bear... at least not a real bear!
