The cache is hidden in a Park and Ride just off Parham Road south of Exit 181 on I64. It's fairly close to the intersection of I64 and I95--about 4 miles or so--and should be fairly convenient for anyone traveling through the area via either major artery.
We noticed the Richmond area doesn't seem to have very many hides at which geocachers who are passing through (or heading out for the weekend) can to make a quick stop to drop off or pick up Travel Bugs. Hopefully, this cache can serve as a point from which Travel Bugs looking for a long distance ride (or arriving from one) can find a friendly commuter willing to help them out.
The cache is easily accessible from the eastern end of the lot and is a camo-painted ammo can. We'd like this to remain primarily a Travel Bug cache, so there are no trade items initially. However, to kick off the cache, we're dropping off four Travel Bugs we picked up over the Thanksgiving weekend, in the hopes someone can help them along!
This is a fairly simple and easy to find cache. Although the cache is fairly well concealed from casual observation, muggles do make use of the lot throughout the day, so take care when approaching and departing the cache site. Please completely rehide the cache to prevent anyone from stumbling onto it by accident.
Always make sure there's at least one Travel Bug in the cache when you leave; you don't have to trade one-for-one, or even at all, but please don't take the last one without leaving one in exchange. This seems to be a pretty standard procedure for these types of caches to prevent them from becoming empty cans! Where's George Dollars, Geocoins, and other items similar in nature to Travel Bugs are also welcome. Finally, please log any TBs you pick up ASAP, so the site log is as current as possible! Otherwise, TBs tend to get lost in the shuffle.
