This cache has been archived.

West Texas Reviewer: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so the cache is being archived to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 15 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the West Texas Reviewer.

Geocache Description:

Another little "park and grab" cache to entice you to Lake Somerville. No prizes for most creativity or difficult terrain, just an interesting monument and a glorious view.

This spot would be great for watching the sun set over Lake Somerville. Benches are placed at the perfect angle for your viewing pleasure. A monument commemorates eight men from the surrounding area who went to Washington, D.C., at their own expense, to talk to their senator (LBJ) and Congressman (Thornberry) about getting this lake for their constituents. Funny thing is, the monument looks as if it is in a maximum security prison! Four rows of barbed wire around the top of the locked fence enclosure! Hence, the cache name. Enjoy reading about these men, enjoy the view, maybe even have a little picnic lunch; and grab a smiley while you are at it!

Happy Trails!
