Come on out for some pizza and a chance to meet with some fellow Geocachers without the undue stress of racing for the first-finder prize. [:)] We believe that the Greater Lafayette area has enough Geocachers around to warrant an event so that we can ask the age-old question, "Just who are these other cachers?" Therefore, let's all shed the doldrums associated with winter and get together for some food and company.
Final update: 7 March 2004: The event was held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Pizza Hut on the Sagamore Parkway in West Lafayette, where the event went from 5:00 PM to around 7:30. It appears that there were at least 50 of us at the event, which attests to the power of pizza [:D]! There weren't any cache-hunting events outside (the weather outside was frightful), but there was a "nanocache" hunt inside the restaurant, and there was a lot of Geotalk while we were chowing down on the pizzas (which is so delightful). After the pizzas are sufficiently consumed, we had some door prizes to give away. We did discuss the growth of caches in the general area, generally Tippecanoe and surrounding counties, and kidCraZy's idea for an summer event in France Park, but we were mostly there for the fun. We were able to pay for the first five pizzas, and contributions covered the rest. Thanks for coming!
