Geocache Description:

Andy Cove Nature Trail is a one way .7 mile loop with interpretive stations, boardwalks, a swinging bridge, Andy Cove Branch, a short hike through the forest and 4 caches.

Directions:
From the intersection of highway 64 and 276 in Pisgah Forest, take highway 276 East into Pisgah National Forest. Follow 276 approximately 2 miles and turn right to the ranger station and welcome center. Andy Cove Nature Trail trailhead starts behind the welcome station. The parking coordinates are N 35 17.110 W 82 43.603.

We are not sure the exact use of the concrete structure but it may have been a concrete sluice abandoned many years ago.

The cache is placed less than 20 feet off the trail. It is placed almost on the nearest concrete wall between two tree segments and is covered with bark and small limbs. The tree segments were cut by a chainsaw. The cache is a small plastic pill container that contains a log and a few small tradable items. Please be sure to rehide it well.

This is a very hard place to get good coordinates but Dianne was able to walk back to the cache. My GPS was pointing everywhere except to the cache. The coordinates should get you in the area, just stay on the trail until you see all that remains of the concrete structure.

We have provided pictures to ensure your success, don’t hesitate to view them.
