A cache hidden to celebrate the re-opening of Novato's Scottsdale Pond.
Although I've lived around here for a number of years, I've never visited Scottsdale Pond. In a five month long project, workers drained the pond, moved wildlife, restored the environment, built an island and refilled the pond. As part of the $1.25 million project a new trail system was constructed and a floating fishing pier was added.
The pond is part of the Pacific Flyway Wildlife Corridor and is a place where birds seasonally rest, breed and nest. On my visit today, I could see that the birds have already started to move back in.
The cache is now a small tupperware-style container about 4"x1" in size.
