This cache is located at Sinclair Point just outside the town of Edinburg on
the Great Sacandaga Lake. Sinclair point gives a great view of one of the most
beautiful lakes in New York.
The easiest way to get to the cache is to travel south on Sinclair Rd (about
3 miles) from the Edinburg "Four Corners." (The main intersection
in Edinburg.) When the road makes a sharp turn, it turns in to Elmer Brown Road. Park here. 43° 09.625N 074° 07.915W
From the parking area, find the start of the trail. It starts near a few big rocks. From there, follow it to the point. It is only about a 300' hike to the cache.
The cache container was changed on Feb 20th 2005. It is now in a 35mm film canister. It is in the same area, but in a different spot. We decided to change it so there was another winter friendly cache in the area. As it's in a different spot and in a different container, feel free to log it as a find if you found the old one. I also changed the difficulty to 2.5 as it very well camoed.
The Great Sacandaga Lake was created in 1929 when the Conklingville Dam was built. The dam was constructed
to help regulate the flow of the Hudson river.

This area can also get pretty trashy at times. Especially during the summer. I cleaned a lot of the trash up when I placed the cache. Please feel free to trash out on your way to try to keep the area clean.
