This is an offset cache located near the picturesque village of Sandy Lane, created for the Bowood Estate workers when their original dwellings were demolished to make way for a new lake. This cache is suitable for young children and buggies (with a little effort) but due to terrain not wheelchairs. It is also advisable to wear appropriate walking boots or wellingtons if the weather has been wet. This is our first cache so it shouldn't be too difficult once you have the final co-ordinates.
I travel through this charming village on a weekly basis to my daughter's riding stables near Heddington. With its enchanting thatched cottages, beautiful views and local pub, The George, within walking distance this seems to me the ideal place for a more relaxed pace of life.... I can also highly recommend The George for a bite to eat as a reward for your effort expended in locating this cache!
This offset cache will prompt you to explore part of the village for some vital clues that will permit you to determine the co-ordinates of the cache itself. Car parking in the village is safest offroad and would suggest 51 24.781N 2 3.159W especially if you anticipate a hunger / thirst... Once you have reached the posted co-ordinates you are looking for the wording on this law enforcing building. Take the position in the alphabet of the first (£) and tenth ($) letters and substitute them into the co-ordinates of the cache location thus 51 24.$55 N 2 2.7££ W
The cache is a tuppaware box. When you replace it then please be careful to ensure that it is hidden from view. If you use the hint then the difficulty reduces to one.
When initially set this cache contained: a set of 12 pencils, a tub of letters and numbers, dominos, a toy car, a gel pen, a brush / mirror combo, some tattoos and a Dolphins keyring.
