O Providence! Spirit them from their gates to thine
that all might enjoy thy nature sublime!
I have walked this trail sporadically over the last eight years.
The first time, I was unimpeded -- both in the physical and
psychical senses. Later there were signs to ignore, and eventually
fences to climb.
The trail still shows up on King County Trail maps -- and plans
are some day to work out a deal with the grumpy fence erectors. It
would be a great day for recreationalists and bike-commuters alike.
I'm not holding my breath.
Rest assured. This cache does not require any excursions off the
public trail easement. In other words, you will not need to
trespass. It's all good clean fun. Enjoy the view of Laughing
Jacob's Falls from the cache site.
The cache is a .30 caliber drab olive green ammo box. You do not
need to go off the trail more than two or three feet. Signal is
usually weak, hence the difficulty rating of 2.
Parking for this one can be a bit of a trick. As you
drive up 43rd way, look for the second turn off on the right just
past the elbow turn. The parking coordinates are:
N 47° 34.245', W 122° 3.081'.
