Annad: This cache has disappeared. Don't know if someone in the new regime at the observatory took it away or some misguided soul just destroyed it. Either way, it is gone. It was a good long, enjoyable run with many nice postings by those who discovered the trail and had fun with the cache. Thanks to all of you.

Geocache Description:

An easy cache on the Planetary Walkway by the Observatory.

The Jack C. Davis Observatory is a state-of-the-art research observatory operated by the Western Nevada Community College. The grounds around it are accessible at all times. On Saturday evenings the public may come in to look at distant stars, galaxies, and all things celestial through their various telescopes.

The Planetary Walkway starts at the Observatory (N39 11.163' W119 47.697') and leads down to the College. The trail is well-maintained and easily accessible. The path is lined by monuments dedicated to the Planets of our Solar System.

The cache is a round plastic canister with a black lid. It originally contained items relating to space, such as an earth squishy ball, some glow-in-the-dark stars, a plastic moon rock, etc. Please try to keep with the Space theme if possible.

Please be gentle with the landscape. No bushwacking is needed. Step around the bushes, not on them.

**Note: They open the observatory after it is well dark, not right at dusk. And remember, if the sky is clouded over there's nothing to see! Come on a clear, dark Saturday night and dress warmly for a great observatory experience.**
