Geocache Description:


This Woodchuck Hill Field & Forest Preserve Geocache is the first of what will be a series of Geocaches placed at “Save the County” sites. Permission has been obtained from the STC to place Geocaches at selected sites. STC has 37 separate natural areas in Onondaga County and one in Oswego County. Properties are classified as “Diamonds”, “Emeralds”, or “Pearls”. This site is one of STC’s Diamonds. To access the site from Woodchuck Hill Road, find the driveway that is 1.6 miles east of Maple Drive and 0.5 miles west of Rt. 92. Look for The Save the County sign identifying the turn offf of Woodchuck Hill road. There is also a cluster of mailboxes numbered 7209, 7211, and 7213 on the south side of the road. Proceed down the driveway past the stables and park by the STC sign.

Avoid the temptation to take the shortest route that may be indicated by your GPS to the Geocache. Stay on the trail marked with yellow diamonds until you are less than 100 feet from the Geocache. The walk is worth your time.
