Fort Nelson Park Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Quiddler: I stopped by the park after participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and, as I suspected, the cache was missing. This is a least the fourth time that the cache has gone AWOL.

This cache is the third to be placed in this lovely little park and it has had by far the longest run at nearly five full years. It is time to put it to rest and open the park for another cacher to hide a new cache.

Geocache Description:

This small urban park is significant to local history and is deserving of a contemplative visit. The cache is contained in a film canister. Please bring along a writing tool.

The coordinates above will bring you to a plaque. Read the plaque and answer the following questions to get the information needed to calculate the final coordinates.

1. How many yards from shore was Corn Island?

Add 293 to this number to get ABC.

2. What year is associated with the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Kentucky? (You've just gotta love that name!)

Add 3,767 to this number to get DEFG.

The final cache is located at N38º 15.ABC W085º 4D.EFG.

There are some other plaques and a time capsule to ponder in the park and on the side walk as well.
