Geocache Description:

A nice little bushwalk with panoramic views and a bit of historical significance.

This is the cache you want to find if you're a gadget freak (like yours truly). I've loaded it up with a ton of fun little fiddly things, and hidden it atop a hill with some fun things to explore. The only rule with this cache is that if you decide to swap something, you must leave something that falls in the category of gadget, OR failing that, uses some form of power. A 'gadget' must have more than a single intended use (I say intended on purpose, because while a thong is perfectly capable of swatting a fly, it was only intended to go on your foot), and the power source can be electrical, solar, chemical etc. This rule is solely intended to keep the find a fun one for the collectors of thingys and whatsits out there among us.

Now then, as for the cache location itself. Historically, this was the site of a WW2 gun emplacement, and the 4 battery sites and command bunker are still there to check out. Use these co-ords:

S33-04.5678
E151-36.3408

S33-04.5804
E151.36.3504

S33-04.5642

S33-04.5696
E151-36.3600

There is a car park near a Big Green Thing, but you could also park around the other side of the hill at the camping ground and take a number of walks available. I won't give too many clues, as it isn't a big area to drive around, and the longest bushwalk you'll find yourself on is about an hour at most (we went from car to cache in 10 mins). There is a lookout nearby that gives some nice views too.

This is a pretty kid-friendly cache (at least if you start at the BGT), and on the day of the hide, there wasn't much of a problem with buzzing pests. But, I would advise you to take some sunscreen and repellant anyway. Take a towel too, there are a number of places nearby for a refreshing dip afterwards.

Enjoy.
