Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in honor of the nearby Stuckey's roadside shop which has been recently demolished.

Some history: Stuckey's was started in the 1930's as a roadside nut and candy shop. By the 1970's it had grown into a nationwide chain with nearly 400 locations. Over the years they have been slowly disappearing. This particular location was a favorite of ours, as we visited several times a year when we passed by, loading up on their famous Stuckey's Pecan Log Rolls. This was one of only 3 left in Arizona. It was truly a sad day when we discovered that it was gone, the only remnants being a pile of debris and the giant Stuckey's sign, still visible from I-10.
The cache is not located on the exact site of the store, but it is very near. It is a smaller size ammo can, painted to blend in with the surrounding desert. The cache is loaded with many trade items, as well as a log book and pen. It is about a 500 foot walk from the nearest well-maintained dirt road. Please be sure and rehide the cache as well as you found it, and as always, Happy Hunting!
