CalTrain - Bayshore Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

normanb: There was a fire at this location. I retrived the Log and some of the toys. Unfortunately, the snake was burnt and is in pieces.

Stay tuned for CalTrain - Bayshore #2

Geocache Description:

The new Bayshore CalTrain station is almost finished and it now has a cache that is part of the CalTrain cache series.

The area South of the station for many years was the main switching yard for the Southern Pacific train line. After the Peninsula Joint Powers Board took over the system almost all of the rails were removed. Unfortunately it will be difficult to use the land due to years of pollution from the maintenance yard so it remains a large flat open space used mostly by folks walking and running their dogs.

The area is GREAT for dogs and their owners. Almost no broken glass or other sharp objects AND Jack Rabbits to chase.

To access the cache it is easiest to park either at the station or on Bayshore Blvd. near the end of Geneva Av.

This cache is an 8 by 8 "Tupperware" container.
