This cache is just a good excuse to explore the beautiful Patonga Creek waterway. There are a few caches in this area now so make a day of it.
The best way to get to this cache would be by kayak / canoe . High tide is also recommended as there are some shallow areas along the way, especially the last part.
Looking at the topo maps, hiking in is possible but not as enjoyable as a paddle. Cache is not too difficult, just need the time (a couple of hours, 8 km round trip) and kayak to get there. As it is on / near water be careful if taking geo-kids or pets. Cache is a standard medium size plastic container.
