Today seemed like a perfect day to hide just one more cache -- the last unseasonal day before the temps really drop tonite and the snow falls tomorrow.
This suburban preserve has ample parking and picnicking facilites and lots of game trails and horsey paths. Also seems like a popular place for people to walk/exercise their dogs.
As you hunt this one ... you might encounter a water barrier but, with a bit of looking, you'll also find an easy way over/around it. Our chosen parking place was approximately a third of a mile from the cache, and kinda west of it. Some hunters may find closer access to the east, but there are No Parking signs posted, and road shoulders are non-existent. So, the western approach may well spare some grief, and it's an easy walk in.
The container is a medium-sized Rubbermaid container, translucent with a blue trim around the lid. In addition to the logbook and several small pencils, here's the litany of original contents: mini-duffel bag keyring, toy Corvette, Fish card game, new deck of Mickey Mouse playing cards, Aladdin stickers, Pocahontas stickers, dinosaur ruler, two unsharpened pencils, carbiner, Brazilian 5 centavos coin in a holder, two small build-your-own airplanes, Chicago Airport System luggage tag, mini-flashlight/keyring, small flashlight, pull-apart keyring. Well stocked, huh?
Happy hunting, and enjoy your adventure!
