Island Lake Cache Traditional Cache

Island Lake Cache is located off #103 Hwy. just past exit 5 (Tantallon). Turn right onto the Mersey Road. The coordinates for the beginning of the Mersey Road are N44 42.66, W063 54.01. You will drive about 10 minutes before coming to the beginning of the trail (Old Annapolis Hiking Trail).
There is a parking lot at the beginning of the trail (N44 45.14, W063 56.02). The trail loops around a lake and is 2.1 km in length. The trail is child friendly with some boardwalks and bridges, however, wear rugged footwear as it is a bit of a rough trail with lots of rocks, stumps, etc.
The cache used to be in a locked box where a key was required to get in. However, it is now in a x-large mustard container and NO key is required.
This is a very nice hike with lots to see. You may wish to note the old logging camp which is marked about mid-way around the trail and remnants of an old dam from years gone by located at the end of the lake nearest the parking lot.
