Rosario Rendezvous Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cajonkev: Well the time has come I'm afraid...

Such a loss for so many but the Lummi Nation must be respected in their wishes.

Hopefully one day we will be able to dust this cache off so many more can enjoy its beauty and serenity.

Geocache Description:

Madrona Point - Orcas Island, Wash.

Orcas Island has been a gift to our family for frequent visits for decades and is home to our daughter's maternal Grand-Parents and Great-Grandmother. Watching the sun set from GJ's house over the sound is the ultimate reliever of "corporate stress". Our first cache is hidden at Madrona Point which is a beautiful park owned by the Lummi Indian Nation and open to the public. This cache is in honor of Robert Moran who built his retirement home "Rosario" just South of this location on the shores of "EastSound" to relieve his own corporate stress. Please visit the Rosario resort and be sure to see Christopher Peacock play in the music room on Sat. evenings to release a little stress of your own.

To access the park, take Haven Road to the parking area at:
48 41.511N
122 54.239W

There is one trail into the park and the hike is easy for most to accomplish around the perimeter. Vista's and views are gorgeous and cutting across the point offers equally nice views of the forest but slightly more difficulty as there are logs to cross over/under. Wonderful location and easy to get to. Hy' sh qe (Thank You) to the Lummi Nation for sharing this nature spot with all.

Cache is a 50mm ammo box.

The girls and I placed this on New Years Day 2004 and they look forward to hearing about your visits and seeing your pictures as well. We hope you enjoy this location as much as we do and share the experience with many others...

UPDATE 08/09/04

Second Maint. visit to cache. Last was late February upon GJ's passing. That visit is logged with the regular posts below.

For this time, most of the family have been enjoying a nice visit on the island for the last couple of weeks with Dad joining the group this weekend. We stopped by to check on the cache and to bring Mom along for her first visit to it. We enjoyed reading the logs and found 25 entries besides our own which is a few more than what is listed here on the site.

Thanks to all the visitors for the great logs and we hope you continue to enjoy this cache for years to come!
