Venice in Savannah Traditional Cache
Waterbaron: This area has some really tough places to get to with dry feet so I'll hide another "Venice" somewhere nearby in the future. (Since we're in the middle of bug season, I may just wait until December.)
Next time, I'll combo lock the cache container to something hard to move and post the combination on the page. It irks me to have ammo boxes stolen and this is the third I've had ripped off in the Savannah area!

Located near Truman Parkway in Savannah, GA.
I discovered this place while in Savannah looking at some equipment belonging to an occasional client. It’s located on un-posted property belonging to the City of Savannah.
The location isn’t as scenic as the cache’s namesake, but it’s interesting, nonetheless. In the spring and summer, it can actually be very attractive, however the bugs may make the scenery less appealing during that season.
With proper scouting, you can almost turn this one into a drive-by, but I wouldn’t do it in my wife’s new car. (My 2WD Chevy S10 made it just fine.) You will have no reason to make a pedestrian crossing of any railroad tracks, nor should you consider jumping off of the parkway to access the site.
Dominant foliage in the area includes cypress, red maple, toothache tree, holly and Chinese tallow.
The cache container is an ammo box covered in the usual manner near a toothache tree.
