Bonny Doon Redwoods Traditional Cache

Come see the beautiful mountains of Bonny Doon! This is the place to come for a peaceful hike in the redwoods. You can get here from Hwy 1 to Bonny Doon Rd or from Empire Grade to Pine Flats Rd. The cache is located on 85 acre Bosch Baha'i School property, for which permission was obtained. Take your hints with you as you will probably need them!
We saw there were not many caches to find in this breathtaking area so we made this our first hidden cache. On Sept. 27, 2004 we got permission to change this cache from a multi-stage into a traditional cache since hunting for caches under heavy tree cover is difficult. Be sure to also find "Here for the View" placed at Bosch July 2005.
Parking is at the end of a narrow road, coordinates N 37 04.893/ W 122 08.764. There are several signs in case your gps is not helpful enough.
You can do this hike staying on asphalt, then mostly forest floor trails up until you reach the cache coordinates. The walk to the cache is less than .5 mi. Look for a green 5 quart screwtop container. Very small children can do the hike easily. Just keep an eye on them.
If there is a session going on at the school, just act natural. They are very used to visitors here and you can walk about freely with little notice. The quietest times at Bosch are usually Sunday afternoon and Monday, but busier in the summer. CALL AHEAD, ESPECIALLY IN THE SUMMER, TO ASK IF THE CAMPUS IS OPEN TO VISITORS THAT DAY. THE RULES HERE ARE: No alcohol, smoking in designated areas only, dogs allowed on leash, use trash and recyling bins.
PUBLIC RESTROOMS are located next to the pool and in the bookstore/coffee shop. There are also public picnic tables and playgrounds for very young to older children.
