bog brush Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

One for public transport fans. A pleasant stroll that will take you to 3 local landmarks where you need to collect information in order to locate the cache. Requires pen and paper and reasonable walking shoes. GPS reception generally good. Distance approx. 4.5 km. Consult Ordnance Survey, 1995-1998 (when did a bog become a heath?).

Start at the park gate located at N51°26.776' W00°17.981' - there are bus stops within 50m of this point. The bones of the first problem lie in the local churchyard. Visit the grave of the captain with a Canadian connection at N51°26.798' W00°18.041'. How old was he when he died? This is A in the formula below. Retrace your steps and go through the park gates and thence to the famous view at N51°26.694 W00°17.683. Refreshments are available nearby as is a car park, should you refuse to use public transport. How far is it to St. Pauls (B) and Runnymede (C)? Once you have enjoyed your fill of the magnificent vistas, head off to N51°27.090 W00°16.942, where you will get the hump. Before you do, note down how far away it is from the signpost(D). Now you can work out your final destination using the following formula: xxx=(5*A)+D+C-B. Beware! When you leave here, you will experience your first brush with the bog. Place names in this area of the park have been sexed-up, so make sure you leave it by the bog standard method and you will be well on your way to N51°27.xxx W00°16.705 and "bog brush". The cache is hidden in a fairly secluded area, but beware of people walking their dogs.
Once you have found the cache, head about 1 km NW via N51°27.707 W00°17.069 and you will come to a main road with regular bus services. If you came by car, you will just have to renew your acquaintance with the bog!
