javapgmr: I went out to check the situation with this cache today. The fence is exactly as it was when I found it in November of 2006. There is no "No Trespassing" sign, no "Do Not Enter" or any other sign that would stop anyone from entering the area. The 'vandalized' fence was a remnant of the past history of the park and predates the cache and the park. When I adopted this cache, I happened to check with a park worker and was told that they knew the location that the cache was placed in. When I checked the cache today, I found that the top had been chewed by a critter and was not going to be water tight for the winter. I decided that I didn't want to hassle with it any longer and decided to pull it. It would have been nice if anyone with a concern would have asked me before complaining about it in a log. There was no harm, no foul, and for the 312 people who found it without issue or complaint, thank you. The area is now free, and the park department has been notified that the cache was pulled. Anyone wanting to place a cache in this area, will need to see their own permission.
