Short walk from the road.
The cache is on Honister Pass - main parking at N54 31.060, W003 12.581 - parking for a couple of vehicles nearer the cache further along the road towards Buttermere, GPS signal good. The Pass with it's boulder strewn verges is the direct route between Borrowdale and Buttermere and Wainwright's beloved Haystacks - cautious driving required! On reaching the crest, Honister Crag comes into view presenting an almost perpendicular outline - an awesome sight. At the slate mine en-route you can fill your car with slate or have your house name etc. inscribed in slate for a small fee. All seasons the views along the way are truly spectacular.
