Historic Shawnee Indian Mound
This site was noted during Indian supremecy in Indiana. Mound, by tradition, was used as a lookout post, also scene of many tortures imposed by Shawnees whose village once lay just west. This site can be seen from quite a distance. The sign is old and rusted right on highway 25. There are No Trespassing signs posted all around - Please do not violate the rights of the owner. The cache is NOT on private property, it is along a quiet, country road. You do not need to cross any fence. As a child we often drove by this spot noting the baby mules every spring.
