Welcome to Ceres, the largest asteroid in our Solar System.
This cache will take you a leisurely 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. From the original location, a very important spot for TeamAstro, you will drive about 15km. The drive will take you past a historic church (part of the multi clue), then onto a spot on private property where the cache is located. Owner’s permission has been gained for the final resting place of the cache. Near the CERES cache, possibly the largest cache in SA, you will go on a short walk to see dinosaur footprints….well, that’s what locals know them as! A comet or asteroid impact, 65 million years ago, was said to cause the demise of these gigantic creatures.
This cache is part of TeamAstro’s journey through the Solar System. Other Solar System caches have been progressively released across Australia. The scale of TeamAstro's Solar System has been carefully calculated to reflect the distances between the planets and other Solar System objects. Your own geocaching tour of the Solar System will take you on an astronomical journey throughout Australia.
Finding Ceres will involve driving on some dirt roads. This is a dry weather cache only.
Ceres is a multicache, and you will need the INFOSHEET to give you specific directions. Please download the INFOSHEET HERE.
