Hungerford is situated alongside the picturesque Kennet &
Avon Canal on West Berkshire's western border with Wiltshire. This
sleepy market town has long been famed for it's unrivalled antique
stores and fairs but it is also home to cosy pubs, tea shops and
quirky boutiques.
Hungerford Common runs down to meet the canal making it an
excellent place for a stroll or walk. There are views across the
hills and if you're lucky the odd scampering rabbit.
This is a great place for dog walking, one of Daisy's
favourites. So, if you see a black labrador with a frisbee and an
old bloke, it could be Daisy and her man.
Recommended parking is at N51 24.612, W001 30.271. The cache is
a small 0.7 litre 'tupperware' box containing the usual kind of
goodies.
There are also some souvenir cards so please take one.
While here why not visit our Hunger for this cache.
This cache is 1 of 37 caches hidden along 19 miles of the Kennet
and Avon canal between and Thatcham and Great Bedwyn via Newbury,
Kintbury, Hungerford, Froxfield and Little Bedwyn.

The towpath is well maintained and suitable for cycling. There
is a railway line running parallel with the canal with stations at
Thatcham, Newbury, Kintbury, Hungerford and Great Bedwyn, so you
could park at one station, walk the towpath finding caches and then
catch the train back.
