located west of an unofficial side trail (old RR grade/log Rd) off Flatrock Run Tr. between two major waterfalls. 3 mile hike in along FRR Tr - on a dirt road which switches up to a RR grade, 1113 ft elevation gain to the cache site.
The cache is a capped PVC pipe, 18 inches long, 4 inches diameter. Contains a log book & pencils, various trade items.
Note: Flatrock Run Tr. starts on County Highway 32/2 next to Red Creek Stables. It follows a USFS right of way across private property for one mile & then continues on USFS property. There is a small trail sign attached to a wood post at a fence corner. The trail goes through a "horse gate" and follows a mowed path along a fence line through Red Creek Stables property and crosses another fence where it continues along the USFS right of way on a dirt road across Canaan Crossings Development property. The trail continues as the dirt road on the west side of Flatrock Run. The trail switches up NW then SW just before the forks of Flatrock Run (approx. 2 miles from the trailhead) to an old RR grade which it then follows south (left) 0.7 mile to cross the right fork of Flatrock Run at the top of a waterfall.
The trail is for foot traffic only (sorry, no bikes). Please stay on the trail for the first mile as it crosses the private property on the 66ft wide USFS right of way - the trail is marked by blue triangles.
