Ever fancied being in the middle of no-where ? On a beautiful day this place is second to non in the Yorkshire Dales. The cache is situated in the joining of three moors, Galphay, Lumley & Skelding in a group of stones known as ‘Grange allotments’. The views down on to the Vale of York and across to the North Yorkshire Moors. The White Horse at Kilburn is clearly visible over 20 miles away. In the forefront Lumley Reservoir is clearly seen.
There are a number of paths to this cache from the North and West, but the easiest is to park at N 54 07.292 W001 40.240, which is the start of a bridle path (drift lane) approx. 1km to the south. This bridle path leads to directly to the cache..
Please note that this is a moor, and I recommend stout shoes. It could get rather muddy and wet. Even though the path is clearly visible and definite please do not attempt this cache in bad weather.
Good luck…
