Geocache Description:

Although this geo-cache is a traditional cache in its own right, it is also part of the Ripon Ramble multi-cache. You may wish to refer to that cache before doing this one.

In the log book you will find a word, make a note of it. You will need this word to enable you to find the Ripon Ramble cache. You will also need the words that can be found in these other caches:

Back O’ Beyond

Down Abbey Road

Down by the riverside

Now about this cache…

This walk alongside the Ripon Canal with a variety of attractions. You start in a small car park (free parking) alongside the Ripon Race course owned by the British Waterways board. The car park is named Smeaton Car Park N 54 07.707 W 001 30.347

As you follow the canal you will pass by a couple of locks, couple of pack horse bridges, Ripon Marina and a wetlands reserve (complete with bird watching hides) and to the start of the race !

A brilliant walk along a well maintained bridle path in a beautiful part of the outskirts of Ripon

As usual I always include one of these series caches in a ‘busy’ place...... it adds to the challenge. This is on quite a busy bridle path (normally only weekends), with clear views in both directions...... good luck with avoiding geomuggles.

AS THE CACHE IS IN A POSSIBLE EXPOSED SITE, PLEASE ENSURE IT IS WELL COVERED.

Good luck…
