Located near Downtown Cape Coral
In his message to Congress proposing lend-lease legislation (Jan. 6, 1941), President Franklin Delano Roosevelt stated that Four Freedoms should prevail everywhere in the world—freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. These were substantially incorporated (Aug., 1941) into the Atlantic Charter.
In recognition, Four Freedoms Park in Cape Coral, Fl is home to one of Cape Coral’s most scenic and serene parks. Sitting on Bimini Basin, the park enjoys a full complement of shaded playground equipment, an outdoor amphitheater, several kiosks with picnic tables and barbecue grills, and a recreational building. Built in 1982, the Four Freedoms Park recreation center is a multi-purpose, 5,827 square foot facility. The center is home to a variety of classes, programs, and special events for children to adults.
In addition, Four Freedoms Park has a hidden microcache which will challenge many geocachers….maybe not in finding it, but definitely in getting its contents back into the 35mm film canister!!
