Geocache Description:

Another of my favourite views in the San Diego area. Cache is a small green-and-clear plastic container (replacing the original ammo can, now missing) on the cliffs above the north end of Torrey Pines State Beach.

As of June 2012, the cache has been moved. The previous location was inside a bridge-construction project, and the cliffs had eroded so that it was becoming dangerous to go to the cache. The new location is on much more solid ground. Same favourite view, though!

The best place to park is on the roadside heading south on what the locals call "Highway 101" (but which is officially now called "Torrey Pines Road" or, even more obscurely, "county road S-21").

YOU MUST PAY FOR PARKING NEAR THE CACHE. ENFORCEMENT BY THE CITY OF DEL MAR IS STRICT! If you park on southbound 101, put your car totally off the road ON THE DIRT. DO NOT park in the pavement in the Bike Lane!

PUBLIC TRANSIT: You can reach the cache via the #101 bus line, which runs every day, from Oceanside in the north to the UTC shopping center in La Jolla in the south. See www.sdcommute.com for schedules.

Note that the cache is NOT RECOMMENDED AT NIGHT. It's legal, just not recommended.
