Geocache Description:

Recommend parking at 48 24.085'N, 122 38.764W and look for trailhead to the east. During winter months this parking area will not be accessible to motor vehicles and recommend parking at 48 23.856N, 122 38.808W and adding an enjoyable short walk on the blocked road. Distance from closest parking location is .75 miles. Elevation change is approximately 160 ft with no extremely steep slopes.

 

This location is in a less-frequented part of Deception Pass State Park and is easily accessed by well-maintained and signed park trails.  Approach the cache area quietly and stealthily and you may see a great blue heron stalking fish in the shallow back end of the bay.
