The cache is located in Fletcher Community Park.
Locating this cache will require a short walk on the newly developed Cane Creek trail. Cane Creek trail is a wood chip covered trail with interpretive stations along the way.
Fletcher Community Park is a recreation park located off of Howard Gap Road in Fletcher NC. The entrance coordinates are N 35 25.448 W 082 29.986. The park is open from 6:30 AM till dusk year round. Park activities include softball, soccer, disk golf, horseshoes, a nature trail, and 1.3 mile river loop walking trail.
Follow the walking trail to the trailhead of Cane Creek Trail at N 35 25.584 W82 29.605. Turn onto the Cane Creek trail and follow your GPS to the cache. The coordinates were very good and we were able to follow the GPS to the cache from either direction.
The cache container is a large pill bottle, approx. 6 inches high and 2¼ wide. It is filled with small exchangeable items, and is NOT in the old rotten stump anymore.
Please remember that animals have a much keener sense of smell than we humans. Please do not place candy, food or any other scented items such as soaps or candles in the cache, as animals often mistake these items as food, and will destroy the cache container trying to get to it. Also, please hide the cache container so it is not visible, so that other geocachers may enjoy in the hunt. - Thanks
