Pack Rat Falls Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Chuck Walla: Hello Captain Atom,

The deadline set in my previous note has been reached. I see that you have not checked on your geocache and addressed the issue with it. Nor, alternatively, have you posted a note to your geocache page to tell me and others of your intention to address the issue with it.

No response tells me that you are not planning on replacing or repairing this geocache. Therefore, I am archiving it.

Please note that this geocache cannot be unarchived if you later address the issue with it. You will need to create a new geocache listing and submit it for review if you intend to keep a geocache at this location.

Geocache Description:

Pack Rat Falls can be hiked into from the Haw Creek Falls Area on Hwy 123 west of Pelsor about 12 miles. The cache can be hiked into starting from the Southeast end of the parking area and hiking south it is on the Ozark Highland Trail that runs through the area.
This is a rugged approximately 1.5 mile RT hike with no trail over ridges and along the creek. It may require crossing the creek a few times, my wife and I did when we hiked in to place the cache. I wouldn't recommend this with pre-teen children due to terrain difficulty. The falls are beautiful, so enjoy the falls have a picnic in the area and if you aren't too tired explore the Ozark Highland Trails.
The cache (ammo can) is located about 100 feet ENE above the top of the falls and about 20 feet off a trail in some large rocks. Some alternate coordinates are : N 35° 40.366 W 093° 15.201, since reception is very spotty in this area. This cache was reposted to this revised location when it went missing in April 2004. The initial contains of the can are: digital watches, matchbox cars, and creepy animals.
Please enjoy the area, but hike in carefully.
