Pinole Creek Traditional Cache
Wandering Ron: Lots of things have happened during the 13 years that this cache has been here. When placed there was a clear path through the ivy to the cache location. There was no reason to go near the poison oak. Now there is poison oak encroaching on that route. Also, a large branch of the oak tree has been cut and fell partially blocking the way. It is time to archive this one. Thanks to all the cachers who took the time to find and log this one.

Near Pinole Creek trail just off Henry Avenue in Pinole, CA.
There is Poison Oak in the area. When you leave the trail and head for the cache there is PO on the left and Ivy on the right. Stay to the right near the Ivy. The cache is in a camouflage painted plastic jar with a screw-on lid. The jar is about 3" in diameter and 1" high. Items to trade should be small. Bring along a writing instrument, as there is no pencil in cache. There should be ample parking along Henry Avenue where it crosses over the creek. The No Trespassing signs only apply to the creek bank and creek. It is ok to use the trail. You will need to go slightly off the trail to get to the cache, but not toward the creek. The trail should be wheelchair accessible, but the short climb to the cache is not.
