Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small camo covered container approx 2”x 6”

I’m sure there is a Great piece of History here, if I could find anyone who could tell me what it is.

M109 Paladin 155mm Howitzer, made in France about 1918

This 155mm Howitzer Model 1918 has been parked at this location since I was a kid growing up here. As a kid we used to play on it along our way to school. I thought it would be an interesting place to visit and maybe pay tribute to those who may have used it.

Located just behind the Civic Auditorium on Center Street and next door to the American Legion Hammond Post 3.

We have searched the web and called half of Kingsport looking for information with no luck. The history of this location seems to have vanished with the times.

If anyone has any information on this site please email me so the information may be added to this page.

There is room for smaller items in this cache & I have included several coins and key rings for starters.

Nearby parking co-ordinates: N36.32.283 W082.31.882 if you’re not familiar with the area.

UPDATED 4/2/05: The hint is a general location!

Note: PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE CACHE TO A LOCATION OTHER THAN WHERE YOU FOUND IT, THIS IS CAUSING DNF'S! SOME PEOPLE CANNOT GET THEIR HANDS INTO THIS SMALLER AREA AND FIND IT!!!

Happy Hunting!
