The Puzzle:
The puzzle is based on an exchange of notes between two geocachers (Plink and Plonk) discussing a third (Plunk). Once you have worked out the ages of the four sons, you can calculate the location of the cache.
You may be able to find the cache before all clues have been revealed.
The Clues:
Dear Plink,
I have asked Plunk the ages of his two sons. He replied that Arthur is less than 10 and at least as old as Bruce, who is at least 2 years old. He added that their ages multiply to the age of my son, Charlie and add up to the age of your son, David. This is not enough information for me without knowing David's age. Indeed, I didn't even know you had a son.
Yours Plonk
Dear Plonk,
Nor for me without Charlie's age. I didn't know you had a son either.
Yours Plink
Dear Plink,
I still need to know David's age.
Yours Plonk
Dear Plonk,
I still need to know Charlie's age. Yours Plink
Dear Plink,
Thanks. Now I know the lot. Funny, I didn't realise that there was such an age difference between Arthur and Bruce.
Yours Plonk
