A series of off-the-beaten-trail caches (hopefully to attract others?).
I have been facinated with this road since I attempted "Coleman Boundary." I must have gotten out of my car at least 6 times to take photos because of the waterfalls & forest solitude! So I wanted to draw people to the area in hopes they would leave caches as well; that requires caches!
This is the first in a series of caches all accessible from the gate. During the winter season in times of bad weather the lower gate is kept closed by the Forest Service, but this series is all accessible walking from the gate!
Directions to the road : From Asheville take 19/23 north (four-lane) for around 11 miles. Take the Jupiter/Barnardsville (NC 197) exit. Turn right and follow this two-lane road about 6 miles to Barnardsville. Turn right onto Dillingham Road just after the Fire Station about 6 miles to the begining of 74. I parked at the Picnic Area & did all the caches from this spot.
Cache is a lemonaide container with a word hidden on the inside. Email this back to me to get credit for the find : DO NOT INCLUDE IN POST!
