Geocache Description:

A toast to when you find the cache, Sláinte (Cheers or To Your Health)

Adventure Dog and I were out in the back part of Veterans Park looking for good smells and things to chase one day. Somewhere in the middle of the meadow AD picked up on a scent. Off she went sniffing through the brush and groundcover tracking something. Curious, I followed along bushwhacking as I went.

As we came over the crest of a knoll, movement caught both our eyes. Adventure Dog bolted into the overgrowth. I tried to run so I could keep up with her. Ducking branches and dodging vines I could barely keep her in my line of site. I could hear her running and barking. But I also could make out the sound of footsteps running. Footsteps, not the sound of animals' paws are what I heard.

But how could that be? I did not see a human weaving through the forest growth. It looked like AD was chasing an animal just a little larger than her. Through the tree line I could make out a rainbow. I knew we were closing in on the fence the separates the forest from the neighboring farmland. The fence would very soon become an obstacle for whatever Adventure Dog was chasing. That is when I tripped over the fallen log.

When the world stopped spinning, I sprang to my feet and tried to figure out where AD had run. I could hear her barking but she had stopped running. I pushed my way through the trees to see Adventure Dog barking on point. She had something trapped between the fence and a huge tree. I called for her to sit. Entering the small area I could see a small green figure scurry up a fallen limb. That is when it hit me. Not far from the base of the large tree the rainbow ended. And I could see a golden glow emitting from under a pile of logs at the base of a nearby tree. Adventure Dog had treed one of the Wee Folk.

Yes there in the crook of the tree was a Leprechaun. And I was going to grab his pot of gold. As I went towards the glowing pile of logs, the little man tossed something into the air. It looked like gold coins. I jumped trying to catch the flying treasure. At this same time the Leprechaun leapt out of the tree and Adventure Dog tried to shoot between my legs after him. What ensued could only be described as the losing move in a game of Twister®. Adventure Dog and I became entangled as the Leprechaun darted from the once glowing pile of logs and vaulted the fence.

While brushing myself off, I noticed a few golden coins laying in the ground cover. As I was shining my new find, I heard a fading voice from the field say "Paddy do not give away our hiding spot."

So here is the catch...

In your log you can only mention the following:

Found, Not Found, and a Note (for TB's)
What you took, What you left
The cache is in good shape, The cache is not in good shape

That's it. Nothing else. Do not mention the weather, the time, or any sly spoilers. Anything else and your log will be deleted. We do not want to give away the secert of the Leprechaun's hiding spot.
Feel free to email me with any comments, suggestions, or questions.

I just hope that no other Wee Folk find the cache first. They like a good prank or trick.

Lastly, I left a one gold coin for the FTF.
