Geocache Description:

A little bit of character that has escaped CalTrans attention...

This section of road was once a part of the highway between Saratoga and Los Gatos. It was paved this way in about 1904, and has somehow managed to survive 100 years of resurfacing (and is in pretty good shape at that!). The highway was straightened (if you look closely you can see the old route), and the neighboring trolley tracks removed, but this section remains.

The cache is a film canister with a little camo.

The title is a name coined by local historian Willys Peck in a 2001 Saratoga Stereopticon article, found at Link
