Geocache Description:

Start by parking at the South Mastick Woods Picnic Area; this multi-cache follows the Solar System Trail. The coordinates listed are for the first step in the multi-cache, the center of our Solar System, the Sun. You will need to collect information from many of the planetary signs to find the coordinates to the final location.

The cache container of this multi-cache is located at the approximate location of Voyager I Space Probe. Which at time of cache placement was about 8.4 billion miles from the sun, at the very edge of our solar system and the furthest man made object from the Earth. Voyager was launched in 1975 and has been moving away from us ever since. The Solar System Trail is not marked past Pluto, but the trail extends through Rocky River Reservation.

On the same scale that the Solar System Trail uses, this cache hunt will take you 8.4 billion miles along this All-Purpose Trail. The cache is about 1.6 traditional miles from the start location. It is hidden about 20 feet from the All-Purpose Trail.

This is the only cache in Cleveland Metroparks that you can find on foot or on wheels. Bikes, in-line skates, wheel chairs and strollers can use the All-Purpose Trail. Remember that bikes and in-line skates are not permitted on un-paved trails in Cleveland Metroparks.

If you are using a GPS unit, you can follow the clues below to find the final cache location. If you are not using a GPS unit, but traditional treasure hunting techniques, you can follow the clues that are on small metal plaques hidden on the planet’s signposts. Either way, you will need paper and a pencil as you collect the information.
