Lake Cumberland State Resort Park is one of the nicest parks in the state. One of the features of this park is a breath taking view of the lake from the lodge. This park also has the Pumpkin Creek Lodge which is an older more secluded lodge. If you love wildlife you will be amazed at how tame the local deer population is. In the early morning or just before sunset, there are almost alway several deer grazing in and around the tennis courts and golf course area. It is also quite common to see raccoons, red fox and flying squrals feeding in the feeder just outside of the dining room patio.
There are two different trail systems in the park. One is a 1.5 mile trail near the entrance to the park and the other is the 4 mile Lake Bluff Trail which circles the lodge area and is where this cache is located.
This cache has been placed only 5 feet from the trail, please do not venture further from the trail as to not damage the forest floor. The cache is a Loc and loc container with a few trade items and a logbook.
It is best to park in the lodge parking and enter the trail to the right of the conference center. The trail can also be accessed from the country store.
