Santa Cruz Art Tour Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Take a tour of some fascinating art, culture and landmark sites of downtown Santa Cruz with this three part multi-stage offset cache that will take you to a very visible location to find a hidden micro cache. The first two stages take you to some of my favorite murals.

RECOMMENDED FREE PARKING: N 36 58.573 W 122 01.460

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Stage 3 is the only physical part of the cache. Please be very stealthy when grabbing and rehiding as it will be in a very public area.
2.DO NOT SPOIL for others by posting pictures of the three stages or giving your own hints. They will just have to see for themselves! Posting pictures of yourselves downtown or of other art and sites on your tour is fine.

STAGE ONE: The coordinates of Santa Cruz Art Tour take you to a wall painting in a surprisingly secluded pedestrian alley where you must look at this mural carefully to obtain the missing coordinates for Stage Two....

STAGE TWO: Coordinates are N 36 AB.CCC W 122 DD.EEE
A = # of happy people
B = # of creatures with 4 legs and a tail visible
CCC = # of rainbow colors x 98
DD = # of letters in the artist's last name, reversed
EEE = # of flowers x 104

I hope you had a pleasant stroll to a second mural which you need to look at carefully, then ask yourself "If there was going to be a train wreck, which structure would be the first in harm's way?". This is where the cache is.

STAGE THREE: In case that wasn't enough of a clue for you, walk east from the mural until the street ends, then walk north, bearing 333 degrees, for about .26 mile. You should see the cache site at this point and can put away your gps and start your search. You don't need to lift or move anything to find the cache.

Happy touring!
