Sliders Multi-Cache
Nomex: Hi MyLtlDmns
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.
You may email me at via the link to my profile on the log. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GCxxxx number, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]
Thanks for your cooperation!

First Part of the Cache is in Oxnard. Last 5 parts are in Santa Paula in my favorite hiking area. Plan an all day adventure. It took nearly 7 hours to place this cache.
After finding the second coordinates, proceed on foot. From the parking area hike across bridge to the entrance of Thomas Aquinas College. Stay on the paved road to the right. Near the top of the campus the road forks. Veer right to a walk through gate. You're now on Ferndale Ranch property and there are signs to keep you from trespassing. Stay on the main paved road past some oil pumps on the left until the pavement ends at a fence surrounding some more oil pumps. The trail goes left, skirting the fenced enclosure. Continue to stay off private property. The first creek crossing is at 1.7 miles. On the other side, take the fire road to the right. In another mile you come to another creek crossing. Cross the creek and follow the path up some switchbacks, through a small campground, and then descend back toward the creek. Enjoy the pool just downstream (especially refreshing on a hot day). Then continue up from the pool and behind it. Follow the trail back parallel to the stream. Continue along this path through a couple more campgrounds, and up another set of switchbacks. Continue along the stream when the trail runs out. Do a little rock hopping/climbing until you get to the water slides. Enjoy the rides.
Oh yeah, along the way, pick up the third, fourth and fifth set of coordinates to keep you heading in the right direction. When you get to the water slides your GPS may lose signal. Mine did. I kept walking back until I found the ONLY place in the canyon that could get a signal at 3pm. And that is where I plopped down the cache. It is only 2.6 miles from the parking area as the crow flies. Unfortunately, unless you are a crow, add a mile or more to that to come up with actual walking distance.
Contents at time of placing: $10 bill for FTF. $5 bill for STF. D&B Power Card, bookmark, Bubba Ho-Tep flyer, candles, 2 rolls of pennies, Hot Chocolate mix, finger puppet, button, superball, sticker, among other things…
Please use extreme caution when rock climbing and hopping.
Enjoy the day. Enjoy the hike. Enjoy the views. Take pictures. Play like kids again. And speaking of kids. This hike is not all that kid friendly. I wouldn’t recommend any younger than say 12-14. The first several parts are great for kids 8 and up. But the last part is a tad on the difficult side.
Cache in, Trash out please as many hikers up here are not respectful of the area.

update 2/29/04 - checked on it to make sure none of the steps had been washed away in the heavy rains of late, and replaced the paper coordinates in each with laminated ones. only one had become waterlogged. Not too shabby.
