The terrain is great! The cache site is easy to find, but parking may be rather difficult to find near the site 'in season'! However, there are 15-minute parking spots available all up and down the street nearby. This is a great site of personal interest to thousands of people, and the view is wonderful at any time of year.
In order to claim this cache, you will need to answer the following five (5) questions. You will have to visit the site in order to answer these questions, since most Internet information, especially in relation to question one (1) is incomplete or inaccurate.
|
Please provide the following information:
1. List the names of those remembered at the cache site from the following years: 1717, 1718, 1801, 1805, and 1807.
2. What object/symbol is represented on the ground between the statue and the sea?
3. Fill in the blanks: The first settlers came from England in 1623 to harvest the ocean's bounty. They concentrated on rich fishing banks between _____________ and ____________, and later ventured thoughout the Atlantic.
4. Of the nearly 1000 ships lost, how many were lost with all hands? _______________
5. Between 1860 and 1906, how many ships sank and how many men were lost? _____________ & _______________
6. Please make sure your caching 'handle' is clearly included with your answers, especially if more than one person will be logging the cache from one set of answers.
The answers to these questions MUST be E-Mailed to me through Geocaching.com, and ALL answers must be exact. DO NOT LOG YOUR FIND UNTIL I HAVE GIVEN PERMISSION, or your log will be deleted.
Oh and PLEASE do not post any answer-related material/photos on this page!!!
Another note: Lately, some of you have been sending me the info about this cache from cellphones and other means not necessarily linked to your caching handle. I have to know clearly what your caching name is in order to prevent me from deleting your log simply because the email address you used does not necessarily have your caching handle included.
